Plan a luxurious getaway to the romantic 1800 Devonfield Inn in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, one of the region’s most acclaimed New England Inns. This Select Registry bed and breakfast is set on a tree lined 32-acre estate in the Berkshire Mountains. 1800 Devonfield Inn is served by both the Hartford and Albany airports and less than a two-and-a-half hour drive from both Boston and New York. The Estate is less than a mile to Lee and Stockbridge main streets, and two miles from the town of Lenox.
Devonfield’s original footprint is 200 years old. It became an inn in 1980. We have owned Devonfield for the past ten years, and as historic preservationists we have strived to maintain the original character of this stately English country home with stunning antiques, hard wood floors, handsome built-ins and picture windows. We have enhanced the property with central air conditioning, new gardens and swimming pool, updated suites and all the modern amenities today’s savvy traveler requires.
The 1800 Devonfield Inn accommodates up to 30 guests with ten well-appointed guestrooms and a freestanding cottage apartment. All units boast luxury linens, and flat-screen TV’s, complimentary bottled water and handmade chocolates, and many include wood burning fireplaces, bubbling whirlpool baths and fine terry robes. Complimentary fresh baked cookies, snacks and beverages are always available in our guest pantry, and Cognac and cordials are offered in the living room. And of course, a fresh and delicious candle-lit breakfast is presented each morning!
Enjoy the outdoor heated swimming pool (seasonal), tennis court and a crackling fire pit. In season, stroll the flower-filled gardens, read a book, relax, renew and enjoy the sounds of nature and then take in some of the world’s best cultural attractions -all just minutes away. Tanglewood Music Festival (home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra), Jacob’s Pillow Dance Center, Berkshire Theatre Festival, Shakespeare and Co. Barrington Stage, offer fantastic performances. Fabulous Museums are here too! The Norman Rockwell Museum, The Clark Museum and MassMOCA are all an easy drive. Outdoors calling? Ski Butternut and Jiminy Peak or snowshoe outback in winter. Let us book a massage or spa treatment for you. In warmer weather, hike, bike, golf, kayak, or fish in one of our beautiful lakes.
