1. Barrington Brewery
Great Barrington, MA – 15 minutes
With 25 different beers to choose from over a year, there will always be something new at Barrington. Nine of those types are still on tap. In the Fall, Oktoberfest seasonal brew may be appealing, as will Vienna and “R” Hop Ale. To experiment, try their Chocolate Stout Cake. It’s made with their beer and may add a face to your face.
2. Wandering Star
Pittsfield, MA – 25 minutes
Wandering Star crafts several beers with some exciting names. Thunderbolt is an American IPA you may find tasty. Another that may interest you is Mild at Heart, a mild dark ale. Add to this list three other seasonal or limited-release beers. There is no bar for you to enjoy their beer at the brewery. Sparing you from frustration, you will be able to do a tasting and take a growler with you.
3. Hilltop Orchards
Richmond, MA – 25 minutes
Hilltop Orchards allows you to purchase retail and by the glass. This hard apple cider is unique – the apple used is exclusively from New England. Hard apple cider would make a great gift. While you’re at it, you may want to pick up some apple cider donuts made fresh every day.
4. Big Elm Brewing
Sheffield, MA – 30 minutes
Big Elm Brewing has three main styles of beer year-round. Besides, there are several other seasonal offerings for you to enjoy. Their golden ale, brewed with chamomile flowers, peppercorn, orange zest, and honey, may pique your curiosity to give it a taste test.
5. Chatham Brewing Co.
Chatham, NY – 35 minutes
You’ll find a variety of 10 types of ales at Chatham Brewing. Also are seasonal varieties throughout the year. A great place to enjoy good beer in a great location.
6. Beer Diviner
Stephentown, NY – 45 minutes
The theme is ever-changing. There is always something new at Beer Diviner – eight styles every week. Try a delightful pale, red, or brown stout. Of a fruit ale. Each bottle filled by hand and prepared at ideal temperatures ensures a great finished product. Lots of personal attention comes with these beers.
